This coming Mother’s Day Weekend, moviegoers of all ages will welcome the arrival of a special movie event: Babies. Opening on Friday, May 7th, the Focus Features release directed by Thomas Balmès simultaneously follows four babies around the world – from birth to first steps. One of the film’s stars, Mari, is seen riding around her native Tokyo, Japan, in a Maclaren Quest Sport.
“Babies is very special because it has such a positive message about life. We absolutely love the premise of this movie, which celebrates the first experiences of babies across cultures,” said Jed Whitters, National Sales Manager, Maclaren USA, Inc. “It resonates with the part we play in the daily lives of parents and babies around the world.”
The children are: Ponijao, from Opuwo, Namibia; Bayarjargal, from Mongolia, near Bayanchandmani; Mari, from Tokyo, Japan; and Hattie, from the United States, in San Francisco. Redefining the nonfiction art form, Babies joyfully captures the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to all of us. The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker, Thomas Balmès, from an original idea by producer Alain Chabat.
To support the new movie, Maclaren is working with Focus Features to celebrate parents and their babies with a series of promotions, including:
