DoubleDutch (http://www.doubledutch.me), a white label geolocation application for businesses, conferences, and universities, has been named as the “Best Mobile Startup” at The Next Web PayPal X Startup Rally. The competition took place over April 27th-30th as a part of The Next Web ’10 Conference in Amsterdam, which gathers over 1,200 web professionals to discuss the future of the web.
In order to earn a spot at the conference, over 450 start-up companies underwent a rigorous interview and review process, of which 23 were chosen. These 23 startups gave presentations in front of an esteemed panel of judges as well as conference attendees, and afterwards the judges met to determine the winners. Among the 12 judges were Werner Vogels (CTO of Amazon), Tim Ferriss (Investor, Author of “The 4-Hour Work Week”), and Robin Wauters of TechCrunch.
"We are honored to have been selected from such a high quality group of companies as the Best Mobile Startup," said DoubleDutch CEO Lawrence Coburn. "Thanks to the entire The Next Web and PayPal teams for hosting such a world class event."
DoubleDutch is currently available for the iPhone. An example app is available here:
