Will Mentor Local Women Entrepreneurs On Ways to Grow Their Business

Liz Calhoun, founder and president of Signuum – a human capital management consulting firm, was named to the ATHENAPowerLink Advisory Panel in Chicago. Advisors are hand-picked from seasoned entrepreneurs and top-notch professionals in the areas of human resources, operations, equity financing, strategy, sale, marketing and accounting. Calhoun will serve on a 12-month panel and provide expertise at no charge to program participants.

The ATHENAPowerLink program creates leadership and mentoring opportunities for women business owners. According to the nonprofit organization Count Me In, Inc., women represent nearly half of all privately-held firms nationwide yet only three percent of them have surpassed $1 million in annual revenues. ATHENAPowerLink advisors mentor program participants on ways to accelerate their business growth and profitability.

“As a small business owner, I understand the value of sharing knowledge and experience with peers,” said Liz Calhoun, president of Signuum. “I look forward to serving on the ATHENAPowerLink Advisory Panel and guiding women to a path of greater success.”

Program participants are selected by the ATHENAPowerLink® community, including Governing Body members, seasoned advisors and client alumni. Evaluation criteria for business include: growth potential; business knowledge; willingness to accept outside guidance; ability to execute on development plans; capacity to stay engaged over a 12-month period; panels ability to address previously identified strategic objectives.
