Forest City Commercial Management in partnership with social shopping network, Shoptopia, today announced the launch of Project: Style, the ultimate fashion competition for guys and girls ages 13 and up. From now through September 2010, many Forest City shopping centers nationwide will select two (2) fashion trendsetters, each round, during a five-round contest to put their sense of style and fashion to the test by creating the ultimate outfit.
“Our shoppers have their own unique sense of style that they can use to gain exposure on a much larger scale through a program like Project: Style,” said Jane Lisy, vice president marketing, Forest City Commercial Management. “We are hoping to discover and nurture potential stylists and designers in the communities around our centers, while promoting the great fashion our retailers have in our centers.”
Selected semi-finalists will be given a $150 Mall gift card and the challenge to create the most stylish outfit that represents their personal sense of style and creativity. All purchases must come from their respective shopping center’s retailers, and semi-finalists may tie in one item from their personal closet. A brief video and pictures of their creation will be posted on the social shopping site, Shoptopia, and members of Shoptopia will be eligible to vote for their favorite trendsetter during the live voting segment of the on-line competition.
Interested applicants may visit their center’s Web site and click on the Project: Style link. Entering is easy and free: join Shoptopia, fill out the application and upload a photo that shows off their style. Two semi-finalists will be selected for every round.
The winner with the most votes from each round will move on to the Project: Style Live Style-Off event at the shopping center in October, 2010. One winner from each center will be named the Top Trendsetter and receive a $1000 Grand Prize!
