Company announces Final Draft Connect at Cannes Film Festival

Final Draft Inc., setting the standard for scriptwriting since its release in 1991, has announced that it will deliver its next-generation screenplay formatting software in late 2011, featuring an online collaborative tool called Final Draft Connect.

Final Draft, endorsed by filmmakers such as Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and Oliver Stone, has been the leading tool used by film and TV industry scriptwriters. With the release of Final Draft version 9 and the Connect service, writers working in the same office or with writing partners living thousands of miles apart will be able to share their work via Final Draft Connect. No longer will it be necessary for collaborators to print out pages and pages of script or e-mail documents back and forth.

"Not only will the Final Draft Connect service provide a way for writers and filmmakers to create their work using the best technology and tools available," said Final Draft Inc. CEO and co-founder Marc Madnick, making the announcement at the Final Draft booth at the Cannes Film Festival, "it will also transform the writing process and set a new standard for scriptwriting and studio development in the 21st century."

Final Draft Inc. was founded in 1991 to develop a scriptwriting program that allows the writer to concentrate on the creative process and not on Hollywood's stringent formatting rules. Since then, Final Draft has become the Hollywood professional's choice, the industry standard for all major studios, top production companies and the world's #1-selling scriptwriting program.

In 2006, Final Draft, Inc. acquired SCRIPT magazine ( and its ancillary events and services. For more information about Final Draft, Inc. and other product offerings, visit
