The webinar featured insights from Suniti Ponkshe, Owner and CEO, Ponkshe Consulting Service and Alan Portela, President, CliniComp, Intl. They discussed the historical journey of health IT, Meaningful Use requirements, the industry's readiness to meet the requirements and timelines, the new approach that is needed, and the Meaningful Use implementation strategy for high acuity areas.

"The journey to achieving meaningful use requires provider organizations to carefully assess how to best meet the requirements from 2011 through 2015, " said Alan Portela, President, CliniComp, Intl. "There is now both an urgent need and a tremendous opportunity to focus on implementing clinical systems to meet the automation gaps which remain today, particularly within the high acuity areas of a hospital such as general and specialty intensive care units, pre and post anesthesia care, emergency department, and perinatal care."

Alan will be giving the introductory remarks on Day One as the official conference chair, as well as participating on the Meaningful Use panel on Day Two as a panelist.
