Saratoga Dentist Dr. Alex Nguyen Participating in the Give Back A Smile™ Whitening Program to Benefit Survivors of Domestic Violence

Saratoga, California. The Give Back A Smile (GBAS) program, an anti-domestic violence program founded by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), provides cosmetic dental care to survivors of domestic violence through a nationwide network of dental professionals. With the support of Discus Dental, GBAS has established a program to help raise funds for the foundation by having volunteers provide whitening treatments to their patients for a donation to GBAS. Dr. Alex Nguyen (past Chairman of AACD Charitable Foundation) is a GBAS volunteer dentist and Whitening Program provider in the San Jose Metropolitan area.

“The Give Back A Smile Whitening Program benefits everyone,” said Dr. Alex Nguyen, “Not only will patients in our area have whiter and brighter smiles, whitening treatments performed at my office will generate increased resources that will allow the AACD to help more domestic violence survivors.” Our office has been donating all proceeds from the whitening treatments to GBAS for the last 4 years.

How the GBAS Whitening Donation Works

  •     Dr. Alex Nguyen provides the whitening treatments.
  •     Patients who undergo whitening treatments as part of this program make their payment directly to the Give Back A Smile program. The current donation amount from each patient is $225.

About Give Back A Smile
The Give Back A Smile program was launched May 27, 1999. Generous AACD dentists, lab technicians, and other dental professionals have volunteered their time and expertise pro bono for the Give Back A Smile program. Since its inception, over 600 domestic abuse cases have been completed for a total dollar value of more than $6 million dollars. There are currently over 300 applicants that are being treated throughout the United States.
