Xlibris, the world’s leading print-on-demand self-publishing services provider, announced today the release of Journey Of Revenge, an engaging novel, reflecting the consequences that come with child abuse, authored by David Z. Price.
Journey Of Revenge reflects the effect of an overbearing abusive parent on a child. It follows the story of Zeke, who possesses the amazing ability to fully remember everything since he was three years old. He is both physically and mentally abused by a controlling mother, Marie, who is relentless in her quest to prove to him that he is both evil and worthless. Zeke grows up through childhood to believe that he is really the monster that his mother makes him out to be and gets driven to seclusion early in life by her. He only feels safe when he is alone where nobody can see or touch him.
Zeke’s father, James, is a workaholic and is seldom around to realize the abuse that goes on during his absence. Marie uses James to administer punishment to the boy for infractions that are blown out of proportion by her anger toward the child. The reality is that Marie never wanted the child and she blames James for the existence of the boy. In school, Zeke gets into constant trouble with other children and school officials. His punishment for his behavior is severe and his anger towards the world increases as each day passes. With so much negative influence inside and around him, will Zeke be able to change for the better before it is too late? The outcome awaits readers.
Dramatic and richly layered, Journey Of Revenge clearly demonstrates the long-term effects abuse can have, not only on the child but also on society as people know it.
