Dime Novel Publishing (http://www.dimenovelpublishing.com) is excited to announce the official launch of the first three serialized titles in its growing library of Dime Novel e-books. Young and old readers alike can experience these engaging and unique story lines on PCs and popular digital reader devices including Apple iPad, Sony PRS, Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook .
Dime Novel Publishing is focused on resurrecting the Dime Novel format for the e-book generation. Popularized from 1880-1940, Dime Novels were serialized story lines published once per month and sold for anywhere between 5¢ and 25¢ per issue. Dime Novel Publishing's series bring back this serialized approach, publishing 23-issues of approximately 40-60 pages. Each issue sells for 99¢. All issues will be bound in an annual volume.
“We believe that reading quality fiction has long been a universally rewarding experience for children,” says Jason Thibeault, founder and author of Dime Novel Publishing's current series. “But the way children consume content has changed. For the most part, they consume content in 30-minute increments The length of most sitcoms and cartoons. Dime Novel Publishing is capitalizing on this attention span with exciting and engaging stories.”
In addition to publishing its own fiction, Dime Novel Publishing is also a vehicle for other authors. Dime Novel provides such publishing services as cover design, layout, editing, distribution, and marketing. Authors in the Dime Novel Publishing family will retain up to 70% of royalties.
“Writing a novel is tough. Writing Dime Novels on the other hand, is a lot more enjoyable,” says Jason Thibeault. “Because the Dime Novel serialized format has no prescribed ending, the author can write on a whim, molding the story in surprising ways. This format truly supports the visceral act of writing.”
Currently readers can select from three Dime Novel Publishing series:
1. Barty the Kid (http://www.dimenovelpublishing.com/titles/barty-the-kid)
2. Jake: Vampire Hunter (http://www.dimenovelpublishing.com/titles/jake-vampire-hunter)
3. Conjunction )(http://www.dimenovelpublishing.com/titles/conjunction
Each series has two issues published. The first issue is free. Additional issues are available through Dime Novel Publishing’s e-book distribution partner Smashwords (http://www.smashwords.com) every 10 business days.
Dime Novel Publishing plans to release several more series throughout 2010 and is currently exploring "print-on-demand" to make it’s titles available in printed format.
