Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) May 13, 2010
After an exciting year highlighting the incredible flexibility and energy savings of Solid State Lighting, innovative design and the expertise of a true custom manufacturer, Millerbernd Lighting announces the winner of this year’s Custom Design Lighting Contest and the opening of their second annual Custom Lighting Design Contest at LightFair 2010, May 12 – 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Technology and lighting have finally merged into high output, low energy application that allow for unique lighting designs and fixtures never before seen,” states Brad Millerbernd, CEO of Millerbernd Lighting. “We are on the threshold of a complete revolution in how lighting is designed, constructed and experienced. As true innovators, we are aggressively positioning Millerbernd as a leader in this exciting field.”
This year’s winner of the Custom Design Lighting Contest is F.M. Carroll of Dallas, Texas whose post-top, decorative fixture design utilized an edge lit acrylic disk and direct walk-way illumination powered by a 30 watt LED engine that clearly represented a tremendous savings in lamp replacement costs and energy consumption. He will be officially announced and presented with his winnings at LightFair on Wednesday by Brad Millerbernd.
“It’s quite exciting to see these professionals and amateurs alike recognizing the potential of LED applications and utilizing it in so many creative and dynamic designs. I am pleased to present F. M. a $1000 check and build his design. We will do everything we can to promote this kind of innovation and bring it to the public to really showcase these talented designers,” continues Millerbernd.
As this year, the Grand Prize will be the complete fabrication of the winning design, an all-expense paid trip to Light Fair 2012, $1,000 in cash and potential royalties on the sale of the fixture. All finalists will receive $500 and a royalty on any sales of their fixture. Finalist designs will be promoted through the contest website (http://www.customlightingcontest.com/) where visitors will have an opportunity to provide their own judging of the contestant’s submissions.
