Lice Control™, Northern California’s oldest and most trusted head lice removal service, announced today that they will be incorporating Larada Sciences’ new LouseBuster™ device into their head lice treatment services. The Castro Valley based in-home head lice removal service has become the exclusive Northern California/Northern Nevada certified operator/distributor for the new LouseBuster device.

Lice Control is a Northern California-based in-home head lice removal service that has been helping families get rid of lice for over 10 years. Owner/Operators Ray & Susan Ruiz started Lice Control in the Sacramento area as a way to help the local community get through what can be a trying time; head lice infestation. Lice Control is now a growing business with treatment technicians, or nitpickers, in San Francisco, the East Bay, San Jose, Sacramento and Reno. Lice Control focuses on the safe, chemical-free removal of head lice and nits. The LouseBuster™ device, designed as a safe, effective and fast way to kill head lice and their eggs, compliments the Lice Control philosophy of natural, non-toxic treatment for lice problems.

The FDA cleared LouseBuster device delivers carefully controlled heated air directly to dry, untangled hair, at a temperature cooler than most hair-dryers and at a much higher flow rate. A unique, single-use applicator tip specially designed to penetrate beyond the insulating layer of hair is used to lift the hair slightly while directing airflow right onto lice and eggs which tend to be located near the scalp and hair roots. A specific, timed treatment pattern is followed to ensure all areas of the head are treated. No pesticides or other chemicals are used in the therapy; just heated air.

“We’ve been following the development of the LouseBuster technology for quite a while now and are extremely excited to have been chosen as the exclusive certified operators and distributors in Northern California and Nevada,” says Ray Ruiz. “With so many products on the market, parents often have a difficult time choosing a lice removal method they are 100% comfortable with. We think the LouseBuster device with its revolutionary controlled heated air removal process represents one of the best options out there,” Ruiz adds.

The LouseBuster technology is based on breakthrough research conducted by evolutionary parasitologist Dr. Dale Clayton and students at the University of Utah. The initial research was published in November 2006 in the peer-reviewed journal Pediatrics. The device has been FDA-cleared and CE marked.
