Award Honors Wimba’s Technical Innovation and Excellence in Software Development, Touting the Tool’s Ease-of-Use, Visual Aesthetics and Overall Functionality.

Wimba® Inc., a leading provider of collaborative solutions for educators around the world, announced that its Wimba Collaboration Suite™ was named the winner of the 2010 CODiE Award for “Best Collaboration Solution” at the SIIA “All About the Cloud” conference at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco on Tuesday. The Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) annual CODiE Awards honor outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries.

The Wimba Collaboration Suite was selected as a winner from among three other finalists in the “Best Collaboration Solution” Category after being reviewed and tested by a panel of industry experts who evaluated each product on its ease-of-use, ability to customize and facilitate communication as well as the product’s visual aesthetics, overall experience and functionality. Judges encompassing tech trade journalists, consultants, IT and product specialists, as well as other knowledgeable, yet neutral experts participated in the review and selection of the 33 winners chosen from the list of 136 Finalists representing 374 companies in the software products and services industry.
