Fresno, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2010
Doing their part to help with the huge, and growing, oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Paul Mitchell the School Fresno is collecting hair clippings to donate to Matter of Trust. This organization recycles hair into oil “booms” that can be deployed around a spill to soak up the gooey substance. The school will be gathering up all of it’s clippings as well as accepting clippings donated from local salons until June 1, 2010. The hair will all be safely packaged and shipped to the Matter of Trust processing plant in Florida. Any salons in the immediate Fresno area are encouraged to bring their shampooed hair clippings to the school at: 5091 N Fresno St, Fresno, CA 93710.
“This is such a serious catastrophe that we simply can’t, as citizens of this planet, sit back and not get involved.” says school director Erik Pedersen. “We have huge quantities of hair that would otherwise just end up in the waste stream. It’s so easy to divert it to where it can actually become a positive solution. Matter of Trust is doing such a great service for our planet.”
