CFL Director of Football Operations & Development, Kevin McDonald, confirmed that he has notified all CFL teams that a new venue for finding additional players will be taking place March 21-23, 2010 in Greensboro, NC at the first annual HBCU PRO COMBINE, sponsored by The Milestone Team. Players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been invited to this 3-day event at the Ford Stadium Complex at North Carolina A&T State University to showcase their skills. Now personnel from all eight CFL teams will join the 32 NFL Coaches and Scouting Directors in recruiting new talent. The CFL is currently the most popular football league in Canada.

HBCU PRO COMBINE Director of Logistics, Coach Robert Massey, is adamant attending scouts will find a gem. “The Canadian Football League adds to the opportunities the young men will get at the upcoming Combine. Having played in the NFL for 9 seasons, I am honored to be part of this new venue. As these kids run agility drills, my goal will be to bring out the best in each one participating in this event.”

Players selected from the three-day HBCU PRO COMBINE will be signed to free agents contracts. Event co-founders Gene Washington and Mark Bloomquist promise a first-class, three-day program, with plans already underway to make this an annual event. “Response for this event has been overwhelming. We anticipate three action-packed days – all filled with new opportunities and surprises for these kids,” says Bloomquist.

The Combine is for draft eligible QBs, DBs RBs, TEs, LBs and Wide Outs. Events include the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, bench press, pull-ups, and agility drills. Running the two-day programs will be the Director of Competition, Coach Alfonso Lee, Head Football Coach at NC A&T State University.
