Allied Power Group has built its reputation on responsiveness to the customer

Expanding from a 17,500-square-foot repair shop, Allied Power Group’s new 75,000-square-foot Houston facility centralizes the company headquarters, sales, repairs and warehousing in one location. Capabilities include an engineering team to determine the best method of repair, grit blasting, a complete NDT line, heat treatment and coatings, welding and machining areas, a clean room for CMM and flow testing and a customer inspection area.

Thanks to the new facility, Allied has increased efficiency by 20 percent and their product line now includes steam turbines and extends repair capabilities to Westinghouse 501F and GE Frame 7FA+e turbines and parts for a worldwide customer base. Allied Power has pioneered the repair of several key parts including W501F ring segments. At this time no other repair vendor (including the OEM) are repairing these parts.

Allied Power Group hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 7, 2010 for a crowd of more than 300 people. Attendees included employees, members of the press and ambassadors from the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce who were able to tour the facility.

“Allied Power Group has built its reputation on responsiveness to the customer,” said Alan Lovelace, P.E., Engineering Manager. “The new facility allows Allied to control all of its repair operations under one roof – which in turn will reduce customer turn times. One of the core values for Allied Power Group is customer responsiveness and the new facility will enhance this key attribute even more.”

“We are very excited to have made this next step in the evolution of our business,” said Keith Marler, President. “All of this growth is in response to our customers’ needs, our employees’ dedication and our team effort that we bring to the table. This year will be our 10-year anniversary and I look forward to the continued growth and expansion into Europe and Asia for the next 10 years.”
