The Diamond Store.co.uk - home to the UK's largest online selection of diamond jewellery is proud to have been shortlisted for the "Jewellery Website of the Year" at the the UK Jewellery Awards for 2010.
The winners will be announced on Thursday 15th July 2010 at an award ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane.
Gary Ingram, Managing Director of The Diamond Store says, "I am delighted to have been shortlisted and for us to be competing with our peers for such an important award. My team have put an enormous amount off effort and care into the business over the last 4 years and this is proof that hard work, investing in great customer care and of course selling great jewellery is all worthwhile!"
The Diamond Store.co.uk is up against 5 other online jewellers for this prestigious award and in an added twist to this years awards the companies will now be "Mystery shopped" with the Mystery shopper going through the process of actually buying and returning an item from each website that has been shortlisted.
"Obviously we are a little nervous about the judging process but as long as the customer sales team applies their usual high level of personal care and attention then I am sure we will be fine!" added Ingram. "In fact I am glad that the judges are applying such strict rules, as the saying goes - you can't judge a book by it's cover - and there is much more to successfully selling jewellery online than a pretty website."
When pushed on whether he will be sad if The Diamond Store didn't win Ingram added, "Of course I would be disappointed if we didn't win but for The Diamond Store.co.uk to be shortlisted is a huge achievement and something we can be incredibly proud of."
The Judging panel for is made up of 23 people from the world of jewellery and commerce and as each year goes by the competition gets tougher and tougher. The other entrants shortlisted for "Jewellery E-tailer of the Year" are Alex Monroe, Astley Clarke, Blacklock Jewellery, Clogau Gold, Kit Heath and Steffans.
