Two more credit unions recently deployed the MeridianLink system to automate financial services. Unitus Community Credit Union in Oregon is using the MeridianLink system to handle membership applications and new accounts. First Atlantic Federal Credit Union in New Jersey has successfully deployed MeridianLink’s LoansPQ platform to automate the origination and processing for consumer loans. Currently, there are more than 400 financial institutions using the MeridianLink platform to automate financial services.
“This has been a big change for us — and a very positive one,” says Jason Werts, vice president of Member Services for Unitus. “The MeridianLink system has allowed us to fulfill our commitment to our members in a much more robust fashion. We also are able to capture more pertinent member information when new members join and accounts are opened.”
First Atlantic Federal Credit Union migrated from another system to MeridianLink to handle loan origination and processing. “I think from our members’ perspective, MeridianLink is not materially different from the previous system we were using,” explains Anthony Fedina, senior vice president of Operations and Lending at First Atlantic. “ But from an internal viewpoint, the difference is huge. The MeridianLink system is much more user-friendly and offers more favorable pricing. We’re able to process the same amount of loans for less money.”
Unitus Community Credit Union deployed the system in December 2009. “The deployment went very smoothly,” says Werts, “which was a credit both to the system and the implementation team.”
First Atlantic Federal Credit Union went “live” with the system in November 2009. “The implementation was highly successful,” acknowledges Fedina. “We were able to deploy the system in record time.”
Both Unitus and First Atlantic are already realizing the advantages offered by the MeridianLink system. “Due to the ease of use the MeridianLink system offers, our staff is able to focus their time and attention on their interactions with members rather than cumbersome procedures or avoiding errors,” says Werts. “Our member applications are up overall, and it seems like the quality of new accounts has improved, as well.”
Fedina has a similar perspective. “We didn’t encounter any migration resistance to the MeridianLink system. Our staff likes this system so much better, and our loan department appreciates the automated funding feature.”
