Elite Massage Chairs, a prominent online retailer of massage chairs, is developing a new site design. This new design is geared towards a more approachable and user-friendly interface that represents Web 2.0 conventions as well as many massage chair site innovations. Their new site can be found at elitemassagechairs.com.

Web 2.0 is all about participation and interacting with our core audience

After 10 years in the business, the web site of one of the most prominent names in online massage chair retail is showing its age. The layout for EliteMassageChairs.com, a major provider of in-home massage chairs and other therapeutic accessories was growing stale, according to company executives. That is why the site is unveiling a completely new design, geared towards accessibility, information, and innovation.

The site revisions represent the efforts of EliteMassageChairs.com to stay a step ahead of the Web 2.0 curve.

“Web 2.0 is all about participation and interacting with our core audience,” says Todd Harmon, a founding member of Elite Massage Chairs. “We feel that most online retailers simply don’t engage their user base sufficiently. And that’s a problem.”

“We are trying to solve that problem,” Harmon adds.

The new look for EliteMassageChairs.com boasts a broad and accessible interface that is intended both to facilitate easy navigation as well as improve the overall site aesthetic. The design is specifically intended to engage users directly, not just as “customers,” but as an “audience.”

“We are going to be utilizing a lot of video on our site, and not just product videos that tell everyone how ‘great’ our products are etcetera,” says Eric Henderson, Director of Marketing for Elite Massage Chairs.

“Everyone has those, and they’re very one-dimensional in terms of user-friendliness. We don’t want to just ‘tell’ our users how great our products are, we want to show them with informative videos that engage the massage chair community. We’ll have maintenance tutorials, videos on massage use and types, what kind of chairs work with what kind of body type, troubleshooting, and more.”

The long-term plans for the site are dedicated to opening up the massage chair market to a larger demographic. Several recent studies have suggested that massage therapy has substantial benefits, not only for elderly persons or people with a history of chiropractic and muscular conditions, but for people of normal health and physical condition as well.

“Who doesn’t love a massage, right?” Harmon says. “And with our brand new site layout, we hope to show everyone just how great convenient massage therapy can really be, while pushing our online business headfirst into the forefront of the Web 2.0 wave. We are reaching out to our users, and we think that they will be very pleased with our great site innovations; not to mention our great shiatsu massage chairs and other products.”

The completely re-designed Elite Massage Chairs site is expected to go live by the middle of July. The web address remains the same: elitemassagechairs.com.
