In a world first, Jennifer has signed an international distribution agreement with telecommunications company Digital Asset Partners which will see her delivering fitness advice, diet tips and motivational content directly to consumer’s cell phones in the form of SMS messages. These messages will be delivered under a paid subscription model where the consumer pays for the content via their carrier bill, not their credit card. In a world where sporting icons and many celebrities are struggling to monetize their following through social networking platforms like Twitter and Facebook, Jennifer’s Premium SMS product is a savvy departure from ‘free’ providing a viable billing mechanism and an uncrowded platform to deliver content.

In the US the program can be delivered to AT&T, Verizon, Cellular One, Virgin Mobile, Sprint, T-Mobile and most of the small carriers. Subscribers will receive three text messages per week for a total of $9.99/month. In addition to the messages they will also receive many of Jennifer’s best selling e-products for free as an incentive to join and stay subscribed. The program is also be launching simultaneously in Australia which is one of the world’s highest per capita consumers of fitness equipment and products. There are also plans to launch the product in the UK within the next three months.
“Traditionally celebrities have sold only ring-tones or wall papers to cell phone consumers. Although these can be very large businesses in their own right they are mainly targeted at the youth demographic. Jennifer is our first foray into celebrity branded products with content designed for the adult consumer.
