BitNami, the project that simplifies the process of deploying web applications natively, virtually and in the cloud, has released Amazon Machine Images, or AMIs, for the new Asia Pacific region on Amazon’s EC2 cloud. The AMIs are ready-to-run images that contain all of the software required to run BitNami-packaged applications for CRM, business intelligence, content management, blogs, wikis and more. Users simply have to login to their Amazon Web Services (AWS) account, select their BitNami AMI of choice and launch it. In minutes, they can have a fully-configured application up and running.
BitNami AMIs are available free of charge for the US, Europe and Asia Pacific regions on AWS. AMIs are currently available for the following applications:
- Enano CMS
- eZ Publish
In addition to ready-to-run application stacks, BitNami also offers AMIs for various development environments, including Ruby on Rails, LAMP and Django.
“We’re seeing more and more BitNami users who want to run applications on Amazon EC2 and other cloud computing platforms,” said Daniel Lopez, CTO of BitRock, the company behind BitNami. “The new AMIs for the Asia Pacific region will enable developers targeting users in that part of the world to get better performance out of their applications because they will experience less latency than they would get using EC2 infrastructure in other regions.”
BitNami AMIs, virtual appliances, native installers, and GoGrid Server Images (GSIs) are available free of charge from: http://bitnami.org/stacks
BitNami.org simplifies the process of deploying web applications natively, virtually and in the cloud. Each BitNami Stack contains an application that is fully integrated with all of the software it requires to run. BitNami Stacks are available free of charge as native installers, virtual machine images and cloud templates, so they can easily be deployed in any environment.
