Story Musgrave will be a guest speaker at their Annual Celebration Day on May 27th, 2010 at 6:30pm. Dr. Musgrave is a retired decorated astronaut, physician and US Marine Corp. His astronaut career started at NASA in 1967 during the Apollo era. One of NASA’s most experienced astronauts, he has an incredible track record of 6 missions in space shuttles Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, Endeavour and Columbia. He is credited with multiple space walks and the historic retrieval and maintenance of the Hubble telescope, and was featured in a one hour BBC Horizon show and on PBS. Dr. Musgrave has also clocked more than 18,000 hours of flying time in 160 different types of civilian and military aircraft. Amongst several other special honors, he received NASA Distinguished Service Medal in 1992, NASA Exceptional Service Medal in 1974 and 1986, and was awarded NASA Space Flight Medal six times.
Dr. Musgrave will be welcomed and introduced by two-term Georgia State Senator Mr. Jack Murphy.
