The technology portfolio, owned by the University of Waterloo and the University of Western Ontario, consists of two issued US patents, their foreign counterparts, and knowhow for developing prototypes. The portfolio discloses methods for non-stationary measurement devices to determine three-dimensional surface and sensor head position from scanned surface information. The patents are for non-stationary measurement solutions and include a structured light approach to 3D measurement. The technology is applicable to a wide range of technical areas including metrology, medical and dental applications, and movie and video game markets.
