Prominent plastic surgeon Roger Simpson, M.D. MBA, FACS, of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group in Garden City, has been selected for inclusion in the 13th edition of "Top Doctors: New York Metro Area."
A senior partner who has been in practice since 1980, Simpson directs the LIPSG's center for facial paralysis, where he provides state of the art, life altering surgery to restore function to patients' paralyzed facial nerves caused by stroke, disease, and traumatic injury. His work in this area has been featured on WCBS-Tv News.
Dr. Simpson also focuses on burn reconstruction and hand surgery as well as performing general plastic hand reconstructive surgery. In addition to private practice, Dr. Simpson has been the director of the residency training program in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Nassau University Medica Center in East Meadow for 22 years. He is also the chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery, director of the burn center and chief of the hand surgery service at NUMC. Dr. Simpson is an assistant professor of clinical surgery at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Dr. Simpson has previously been included in the authoritative Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. guide, which spotlights the top 10 percent of primary and specialty care physicians in the New York tri-state area.

Dr. Simpson graduated magna cum laude from the University of Brussels, School of Medicine in 1974. He completed his General Surgery residency and his Plastic Surgery residency at NUMC. He received certification from the American Board of Surgery in 1980 and the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1981. Subsequently, Dr. Simpson completed a prestigious fellowship in hand surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1981, attaining the Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.
Dr. Simpson is the past president of the Medical Staff at Nassau University Medical Center and former chief of plastic surgery at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Rockville Centre.
Dr. Simpson has addressed professional colleagues at numerous symposia and workshops throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.His work on topics relating to plastic and reconstructive surgery, facial paralysis, burn reconstruction, and hand surgery has been published in textbooks and professional and academic journals.
A native of New York City, Dr. Simpson, grew up in Long Beach, and now resides in Merrick.
