Partners since 1998, JSTOR Makes Available over 1,200 Academic Journals in Digital and Print Formats

Apex CoVantage, a leading global knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) company specializing in content solutions, is pleased to announce that JSTOR has chosen to extend its existing, 13-year relationship with Apex. In early 2010, JSTOR evaluated current and potential suppliers to ensure they were receiving the best value for money. Apex was selected to continue its work with JSTOR as a result of Apex's demonstrated ability to deliver consistent high quality content at attractive prices.

Through this extension, Apex will continue to provide an array of valuable digitization services for significant volumes of content including but not limited to academic journal back runs. Specifically, Apex will digitize approximately 250,000-300,000 pages per month.

JSTOR is a service of ITHAKA, a not-for-profit organization helping the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways. The JSTOR research platform is widely recognized and heavily used among researchers, faculty and students globally. JSTOR contains the full runs of journals (from volume 1, issue 1) and other supporting materials, such as pamphlets, conference proceedings, and monographs. New initiatives to support innovations in scholarship, such as using the archives for text mining, are also underway.

"Apex is very proud of our long-term partnership with JSTOR. Our goals are the same--to facilitate the use and preservation of print content through modern digitization technology," said Shashi Gupta, President, Apex CoVantage. "We were particularly gratified to discover that Apex was selected for our dependable delivering of large volumes of high quality content required by JSTOR within their budget."
