With new app, consumers can use their Google Android mobile phones to arm/disarm a security system, view live video, and check motion activity occurring at their property from afar

Alarm.com, the security industry leader in wireless, web and mobile security and monitoring technology, today announced the launch of its new mobile app for Google Android phones. The new free Alarm.com Android app allows users to easily check on their monitored properties from their Android mobile device anytime, from anywhere.

Alarm.com’s Android app for remote monitoring and control of home security systems and business security systems empowers users to:

  • Arm and disarm their Alarm.com-enabled security system remotely
  • View live video and recorded video clips
  • Keep tabs on recent activity reported by motion detectors and other sensors throughout their property
  • Access a history of all events reported by the security system, including alarms, power failures, and water leaks

Customers can also receive real-time email and text message notifications right to their Android device for any system event that takes place, such as a child coming home from school, an after-hours store delivery, or a garage door left opened.

“We are committed to providing Alarm.com end users the best in interactive security while also freeing them from the keypad on the wall,” said Alison Slavin, Alarm.com’s Vice President of Product Management. “Our dealers and customers have been asking for an Alarm.com app for Android and we’re very excited to deliver.”

To download the Alarm.com app, users can access the Android Market from their compatible Android device and search for “Alarm.com.” For more information about Alarm.com Android app capabilities and mobile access, visit http://www.alarm.com/android.
