BEEcube will be showcasing the recently announced BEE3-W™ platform running a live Software Defined Radio (SDR) demonstration. Based on BEEcube’s successful 3rd generation FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) BEE (Berkeley Emulation Engine), the BEE3-W is specifically designed to address rapid system level prototyping of Wireless and Digital communications designs.

BEEcube, a leading provider of advanced system-level FPGA prototyping platforms, will exhibit at the International Microwave Symposium (IMS), booth# 3201 on Tuesday, May 25 from 9:00am-5:00pm, Wednesday, May 26 from 9:00am-6:00pm, and Thursday, May 27 from 9:00am-3:00pm at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

BEEcube’s demonstration at IMS will highlight the BEE3-W system as a Software Defined Radio (SDR) prototyping platform - showing off our FPGA based continuous wideband vector signal generator, controlled by software in real-time via Wind River's VxWorks over Gigabit Ethernet, with carrier frequency tone sweeps ranging from 0 to 2GHz. BEE3-W's inherent 2Gsps DAC highlights its wideband I/O capability. The BEE3-W ADC expansion board simultaneously captures the analog output, with data being displayed directly within MATLAB™. BEE3-W's ADC can sample up to 3 GHz, offering a true direct RF sampling capability.

With combined ADC and DAC modules and the Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA based BEE3 hardware platform, BEE3-W enables a wide range of high-performance, real-time implementations in multiple military and defense applications. BEE3-W allows for flexible algorithm and feature set definitions and as a result excels as a true real-time development platform for:
