The Pocket CO and KWJ Engineering sponsored the Caitlin Brondolo Foundation’s Golf Tournament May 14, 2010 at Broken Sound Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida, to help spread awareness and prevention of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. KWJ Engineering donated a Pocket CO as a prize, and for every Pocket CO purchased with tournament vouchers, $40 will be donated to the foundation. The Pocket CO is an ultra-light and easy to use portable CO monitor that protects people from the dangers of Carbon Monoxide.

We have a community that mourns the loss of two girls, and I know most will be impressed with the Pocket CO...We are very excited about your product, and being portable will certainly expand on the message...which is CO poisoning prevention.

KWJ is very excited to join the Caitlin Brondolo Foundation to help educate the community and spread awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide, and prevent such a tragic story like Caitlin’s from happening again.

“We have a community that mourns the loss of two girls, and I know most will be impressed with the Pocket CO. I appreciate all you are doing to help honor the memory of Caitlin Brondolo. We are very excited about your product, and being portable will certainly expand on the message we are both working on, which is CO poisoning prevention. It hits us everyday how much our foundation and your product could save lives,” Shelly Devino, Board of Directors, Caitlin Brondolo Foundation.

The Caitlin Brondolo Foundation was created on May 31, 2009 after Caitlin and her best friend lost their lives to CO poisoning. Caitlin Brondolo and Amber Wilson were having a sleep over when a car was left running in the garage, building up toxic levels of Carbon Monoxide that leaked into the house. Caitlin and her best friend both succumbed to CO poisoning that night. This is an event that could have been prevented, with education and CO detectors.

The Pocket CO is the smallest, lightest, portable carbon monoxide detector on the market today. It is a personal monitor that goes wherever you go to protect you and loved ones from low and high levels of CO. Personal monitors as well as area alarms are needed to protect the public health. CO is a colorless, odorless toxic gas produced by the incomplete burning of carbon based fuels and other things, like natural gas, propane, and wood. CO can be found in the home, on the job, office buildings, restaurants, airplanes, hotels, automobiles, boats, and even in scuba dive tanks. When inhaled it deprives the blood stream of oxygen, suffocating its victim. CO can cause immediate health problems, and even death in high concentrations. It also causes long-term health problems in low concentrations if a person experiences regular exposure at home, or in the workplace. Babies, children, the elderly, and those who are ill, especially those with emphysema, COPD and asthma, are more susceptible to CO poisoning.

Pocket CO, designed and built in the USA by KWJ Engineering Inc, is the world's smallest, lightest portable carbon monoxide detector. Its advanced technology, tiny size, and ease of use, make it perfectly suited for many applications and activities where CO levels should be monitored. In addition to keeping users safe from immediately dangerous levels of CO, Pocket CO also allows monitoring of lower CO levels, which pose long-term exposure heath risks, and collects information, which can be downloaded to any computer using the SmartPocket Reader, such as maximum and average readings over time. The Pocket CO is used by industry professionals including building inspectors, fire departments, police and EMS/EMT units, airplane pilots, boaters, scuba divers and truckers.
