Multi-Pure International's products are among those touted by a White House council for aiding in the fight against cancer. President Obama’s Cancer Panel recently released a report recommending people use home water filtering devices to decrease their exposure to cancer-causing agents.

Multi-Pure has a 40 year history of providing products which help protect families from cancer causing chemicals found in drinking water. “This is one of the easiest, and most inexpensive measures a family can take to protect against carcinogens” said Alvin E. Rice, President of Multi-Pure International. “Water is the very essence of all life, clean water just makes good sense.”

President Obama’s Cancer Panel is a three-person body made up of distinguished scientists or physicians. It reports to President Obama on the development and execution of the National Cancer Program. The panel’s report, titled “Reducing Environmental Cancer Risks: What We Can Do Now” states, “Filtering home tap or well water can decrease exposure to numerous known or suspected carcinogens and endocrine-disrupting chemicals.” The report goes on to highlight the added importance of protecting children. “To the extent possible, parents and child care providers should choose house products that will minimize children’s exposure to toxics.”

In addition, the panel also suggests that contaminants can leach into water from plastic water bottles, and that the use of stainless steel or glass bottles can help reduce exposure to endocrine-disrupting and other chemicals.
