Averde Health’s rapid network expansion across Texas now includes The Seton Family of Hospitals. Seton becomes the second major health care system in Austin serving high-deductible plan members with the Averde network.

Averde Health (, an innovative new competitor in the health benefits arena, announces the addition of the Seton Family of Hospitals to their rapidly expanding network. The Seton Family of Hospitals is the leading provider of health care services in Central Texas, serving an 11-county population of 1.8 million. Seton becomes the second major network hospital system in Austin to join Averde’s network in recent weeks. Averde also marks their expansion into its fourth Texas market in six months. Texas is among the first states where patients will use Averde Health’s new network product.

Averde’s product works with high-deductible medical plans and offers guaranteed payment to doctors and hospitals at 100 percent of the contracted rate including the patient portion of the bill. When clean claims are submitted within 60 days, providers are paid both the plan and the member portion of the claim, including coinsurance and deductibles. Then, Averde collects the member portion directly from members so doctors and hospitals don’t have to. Providers merely collect standard office visit copayments at time of service. In addition, Averde significantly reduces the blizzard of paperwork associated with high-deductible plans, delivering statements that are simple for consumers to understand.

“Our reception in Texas has been exceptional,” remarked Averde’s CEO, Tom Policelli. “The deductibles for health benefits in Texas are among the highest in the country, presenting a new set of problems for employers and consumers alike. Adding The Seton Family of Hospitals to our network will increase the access to our product, making high-deductible health benefits more affordable for Texas employers and consumers.”

With The Seton Family of Hospitals contract, Averde continues to recruit doctors and ancillary medical providers at full speed, providing broad access to Austin employers and consumers.

“Our value proposition has been really resonating with doctors and hospitals and our networks are delivering terrific value to our customers,” said Policelli. “We are pleased to see that employers and individuals are finding our product to be very compelling and affordable.”

Averde’s blistering expansion across Texas will continue throughout 2010 with Dallas and Houston targeted as the next markets in the state. Recently, Averde announced the signing of their first Florida hospital system and embarks on a major build-out in the Southeast for the balance of the year.
