We're delighted to announce full certification for Rocna anchors
(PRWEB) May 25, 2010
Hold Fast Anchors can now confirm RINA approval to Super High Holding Power (SHHP) and Sea Bed Testing Approval to SHHP certification for the New Zealand company’s complete range of Rocna anchors (http://www.rocna.com).
Certification complements Rocna’s existing RINA Type Approval Certification to SHHP, announced at the METS 2009 exhibition in Amsterdam. RINA (Registro Italiano Navale, http://www.rina.org) is an internationally recognised leader in certification and assessment of conformity. Used primarily aboard registered vessels, certified anchors are specified either by a vessel’s designer, or by a marine surveyor under instruction from a Marine Registration Society.
RINA has approved Rocna anchors in sizes 4.1kg to 55kg for mass production, so they do not require individual certification for service in registered vessels. Rocna anchors from 70kg to 275kg may be individually certified as required, a process undertaken at Hold Fast Anchors’ RINA certified manufacturing facility in China.
In addition to RINA, Lloyds, CCS, ABS, GL, NK, DNV, BV and KR are among the international societies to certify this purpose-built facility. Only 5% of Chinese companies currently meet the stringent quality standards required by RINA.
“We’re delighted to be able to announce full RINA certification for Rocna anchors – and for our manufacturing plant,” says Hold Fast Anchors’ CEO Steve Bambury. “Demand from commercial and super-yacht sectors for our anchors has grown significantly over the last 12 months and with the SHHP designation, we are delighted to be in an even better position to meet that demand,” he said.
Certification numbers and a RINA statement for Rocna’s complete anchor range are available in the Media Gallery http://www.rocna.com/images/gallery/rina-certificate-2010.pdf on the Rocna website (http://www.rocna.com).
