Sitewire was judged best in class at this year’s American Marketing Association Spectrum Awards held in Phoenix, Ariz., May 19th 2010. Sitewire was announced as a finalist in three categories for their forward-thinking “Vampire Power Sucks” campaign for consumer electronics client, Scottsdale, Ariz., based iGo. Creating and executing an integrated, multi-channel strategy for iGo’s “iGo green” line of energy-saving electronics devices, Sitewire garnered top honors in the following categories; Print – Magazine Advertizing, Interactive / Online – Online Marketing Campaign and Integrated Marketing Campaign – Product.
Additionally, Sitewire took home the 2010 Spectrum Award’s People’s Choice Award, which is a testament to the creative strategy of the campaign. This accolade was voted on real-time by Arizona’s marketing elite and those in attendance at the 2010 Spectrum Awards.
“It takes great partners to do great work,” said Sitewire’s Director of Emerging Media and Client Strategy, Andrew Bagley. “iGo took a big leap of faith in allowing an agency like Sitewire to develop and execute a campaign like this within the first year of our engagement.”
The Vampire Power Sucks campaign consisted of an integrated strategy, fusing online and offline elements to drive consumer awareness of Vampire Power. “Our goal was to associate the iGo green line of energy-saving devices in the consumer mindset with reduced energy consumption and eliminating costly and an environmentally unfriendly waste of electricity,” said Bagley
“The Vampire Power Sucks Campaign was the culmination of a very successful and rewarding partnership with Sitewire,” said Jason Edwards, Director of eCommerce for iGo, Inc. “The innovation and creativity the Sitewire team brought to us helped launch our new iGo Green product line with more interest and awareness than we even hoped for. It was great to be at the Spectrum Awards to see all the hard work that went into this be rightfully recognized.”
Sales of the iGo Power Smart Tower, iGo Power Smart Wall and iGo’s Charge Anywhere devices have been impressive since campaign inception last fall. The campaign included a racy print run in WIRED magazine, supporting a vampire themed microsite featuring augmented reality, an Addy-winning motion graphics video, a flash-based power savings calculator and a sweepstakes. Additional tactics included the deployment of paid and organic search campaigns, offline and digital display advertizing, Facebook integration and a custom-built iPhone application.
