New features inspired by popular social gaming sites include leveling, XP, and Power-ups.

uBoost, the nation’s premier Student Recognition and Rewards Program announced its latest version release including engaging new features and enhancements just in time to beat the end-of-year blues and kick off summer programs. Schools across the nation have seen an improvement in attendance, classroom behavior, and test scores from custom uBoost programs.

The concept of leveling up and earning XP (experience points) is not new to this generation and is commonly found in many web-based and console games. uBoost members can earn XP and level up by earning points and badges through achievement, as defined by clients. Leader boards recognize top point and XP earners giving students the ability to compare their status against other members enrolled in their program. In addition to leveling up, students can earn Power-up badges that unlock special features. The first set, Karma Boosts, are awarded to students based on their level of charitable giving and entitles its holders to receive bonus contest entries.

uBoost also unveiled its latest game, uCare Rescue. Students rescue pets and care for them until they are ready to be adopted. As students advance through the game, new pets and shelter upgrades are unlocked. In response to positive reviews and student activity, a new set of badges and enhanced user interaction are currently in development. Because this game is exclusive to uBoost, students must continue to exhibit positive learning behaviors in order to earn points redeemable for new pets.

“Schools and elearning companies see dramatic increases in learning outcomes such as attendance, assignment completion, and course progression with custom badges, XP points, and leader boards”, says John Bower, CEO of uBoost. “By leveraging features proven successful in the gaming industry, uBoost is able to create and sustain student engagement and motivation by automating relevant forms of recognition that appeal to today’s learners.”

uBoost’s next release is focused on features that will enable its members to share their accomplishments outside of the uBoost network to increase peer, teacher, and parent recognition.
