Innovations Medical announces Activated Fat Transfer procedure with faster recovery time.

Innovations Medical introduces a new fat transfer procedure that reduces recovery time due to an increase in blood flow to the new pockets of transferred fat. The procedure is called Activated Fat and can be used in a variety of procedures used to help promote faster healing.

The new procedure allows patients to recover much faster due to an increase in blood flow in the area the procedure was performed. Activated fat uses Platelet Rich Plasma, a sample of plasma extremely concentrated with the patient’s platelets. “In order for cell survival to occur, the fat cells have to come up with a blood supply in their new home. Activated Fat contains a much higher than normal amount of growth factors. These growth factors allow the fat to actually call blood vessels to them. The new cells further help to offset the loss of any of the transferred cells. The results: in one recent study of 448 patients, all patients showed a response to transfer of activated fat and over 90% were happy with the results,” said Dr. Bill Johnson, owner Innovations Medical.
