The Corporate Services Arm of the World Famous Comedy Theatre, The Second City, Launches Video Catalog Using Humor to Help Companies Connect With Employees About Serious, High-Stakes Topics -- Because You Can’t Bore Them Into Changing Behavior. RealBiz Shorts -- Make Them Laugh and Make Them Think!

RealBiz Shorts features hassle-free video content that cuts through the clutter -- and helps companies connect with employees using humor to address serious ethics and compliance issues.

Second City Communications, the corporate services arm of the world famous comedy theatre company, The Second City, has launched an innovative video catalog on ethics and compliance topics called RealBiz Shorts — aimed at using humor in corporate training and awareness efforts to engage employees about serious issues.

RealBiz Shorts debuts at Compliance Week 2010, the 5th annual global gathering of compliance executives that runs from May 24-26 in Washington, D.C.

The launch of RealBiz Shorts is drawing a strong response from across a spectrum of the business world — with 12 major companies signing on as founding clients, including top brands from a number of fields: Baxter Healthcare, Best Buy, Dow Chemical, Farmers Insurance, MasterCard, MetLife, MillerCoors, Teva Pharmaceutical & United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel), and others.

“RealBiz Shorts is ethics and compliance content for the YouTube era, with out-of-the-box content that quite literally goes beyond the box typically found with training materials,” said Tom Yorton, CEO of Second City Communications. “Clients get hassle-free video downloads and content that cuts through the clutter to connect with people with humor to bring tough topics to life. These video shorts are designed to plug in to a company’s current training programs — and we’ve made it every easy to embed them in just about anything – in presentations, live training sessions, on intranets, in email, or pushed to mobile devices,” Yorton added.

RealBiz Shorts is the latest of Second City’s services targeted at the ethics and compliance field.
“Ethics and compliance issues are very important – but employees often tune out because the communications and training around them are so boring,” said Tom Yorton “Humor is very effective for addressing sensitive subjects — humorous messages are more likely to be heard, retained, and shared. Things are funny when they’re true. And we’re bringing some sorely needed energy and authenticity to ethics and compliance,” Yorton added.

RealBiz Shorts was developed with corporate ethics and compliance thought-leaders.

"MillerCoors is excited to work with Second City Communications to bring a fresh voice and vision to ethics and compliance topics,” said Garrett Reich, Director of Ethics and Business Conduct at MillerCoors. “RealBiz Shorts offers a fast and funny way to connect with our employees on sensitive and often tough topics."

RealBiz Shorts will feature videos addressing a wide range of important topic areas in ethics and compliance, including corruption & bribery/FCPA; conflicts of interest; code of conduct issues; privacy and confidentiality; accuracy of reporting & record keeping; and supportive environment/reporting non-compliant behavior — among others.

"RealBiz Shorts is a nice addition to our ethics and compliance program — topical, funny, and focused videos on sensitive and often tough topics,” said David H. Resnicoff, Associate General Counsel & Vice President, Ethics and Compliance at Baxter International Inc.

Second City is launching RealBiz Shorts at Compliance Week 2010 as part of a partnership with Compliance Week to bring its innovative methods for ethics and compliance communications and training to the annual gathering of global compliance executives.
