Vamosa, a provider of software and solutions for Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG), today announces Board changes designed to position the company for the next phase of growth.

Ian Smith, formerly President of Vamosa, will become CEO of the company, based in Boston. He takes over from George Knox, who is now Executive Chairman. Smith will continue the expansion of Vamosa, building out the existing teams and processes to take advantage of the emerging ECoG market.

Nic Archer, based in Glasgow, will become Senior Vice-President of Enterprise Solutions at Vamosa. Ger Burns, also based in Glasgow, joins the Operations Board as VP of Software Tools. This transition is part of the long-term plan to increase Vamosa’s share of the growing market opportunity for software and services that bring control to unstructured content.

George Knox, Executive Chairman, Vamosa, said, “Since our inception, Vamosa has delivered exceptional consulting and solutions for our customers requiring ECoG. Under Ian’s leadership we expect Vamosa to become the go-to company for organizations requiring an integrated, policy-based approach to governing content.”

“Vamosa is ideally positioned, with its heritage in bespoke CMS migration projects, to support the evolving content governance market. We deliver real business results for our clients by increasing organizational efficiency, transforming the web experience, lowering the cost of ownership of content management and delivering error free automated migrations.
With more CMS migration experience than any other supplier, Vamosa can help its customers to make the right decisions and drive the policy changes essential to solving the ‘digital haystack’ problem,” said Ian Smith, CEO, Vamosa.

Recently, the company unveiled its ECoG Framework; a framework to provide guidance for clients to control the full lifecycle of content. The ECoG Framework defines four phases for the lifecycle of content over which every enterprise must get control to implement effective governance: initiation, creation, control and consumption. This structure makes it easier to define corporate policy, build quality content first time and to ensure it is used in the business to create value.
