On Tuesday, May 18, 2010, Marcine Kline, Senior Escrow Officer and Branch Manager of Escrow of the West’s Sherman Oaks office, served on a panel addressing the Beverly Hills Bar Association members on the topic of “Real Estate Issues for Probate Attorneys: Deed Selection, Escrow and Title Insurance Issues and More.”
Kline has over 32 years of escrow experience, both in traditional transactions and as a specialist in Probate escrow, Trust Sales, Conservatorships as well as both Court and Independent Administration of Estates Act transactions. She is uniquely qualified to speak on this multifaceted topic and shared with the members many of the complexities required to navigate through the nuances of the law and how to successfully close escrow.
In the discussion, Kline explained to the members that the sale of real property through probate and trust is vastly different from the sale of property outside of the court system. With explicit terms and conditions, as well as a unique set of forms and disclosures not used in a traditional real estate sale, it becomes vital to have the proper knowledge of the documents and the court system in completing these transactions.
Following the presentation, a brief Question and Answer period followed where Kline discussed several tips and tools on how to save both time and money by utilizing effective ways to circumvent many of the issues which come up during these transactions.
