A New Leader in Gel CPAP Masks For The Treatment of Sleep Apnea

CPAPtalk.com's Product Challenge 12 results show ResMed entered the CPAP Gel mask market with an innovative product that will help CPAP patients.

Product Challenge 12 pitted ResMed's first Gel mask, the Mirage SoftGel against the very popular Philips Respironics ComfortGel nasal CPAP mask. While many users commented on the high quality of both masks, the SoftGel's design was a clear improvement. As one participant said, "I always loved my CG mask- been using one for years, but the Mirage SG will be my new favorite." The Mirage SoftGel is not a "me too" mask. It sets a new standard in excellence.

Challenge participants, who are all current users of the ComfortGel mask, received a Mirage SoftGel mask to try and compare to their current ComfortGel mask. At the end of the trial, participants competed a survey asking them to rate both masks. Challenge participants did an excellent job of highlighting areas of weakness, strength, and potential for further development. When asked which product they would use in the future, trial participants chose ResMed's SoftGel over Philips Respironics' ComfortGel 35 to 15.

Patients and care givers can review the results of this challenge and learn from these participants' experience when deciding on future mask selections. The participants' feedback not only identifies the stronger product, but also provides insight into potential issues patients could run into with either mask.
