Camp Lango is the perfect way for parents to combine foreign language education with the classic summer day camp experience for their kids this summer

Lango is pleased to announce that Camp Lango language-immersion summer day camps for kids will take place in 16 communities across the US this summer, offering more children than ever before the opportunity to learn a foreign language. Camp Lango foreign language summer day camps will take place between June and August 2010 in six states including California, Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, and Texas.

Camp Lango combines all the fun of a summer day camp with the benefits of learning a new language. Camp Lango’s language-immersion summer day camps are designed for children ages four to nine and are offered in three languages: Mandarin, French and Spanish. Campers will learn a foreign language while playing games, singing songs, creating art projects, and conducting scavenger hunts. All programs share the adventures of Cosmo, the Lango bulldog, and his friends, the Lango Kids.

“Camp Lango is the perfect way for parents to combine foreign language education with the classic summer day camp experience for their kids this summer,” said Michael Fee, co-founder of Lango. “Concentrated, repeated exposure to a new language at Camp Lango helps campers to learn quickly – during the ‘No English’ times, kids may as well be in a different country!”

Children gain an appreciation for other cultures by learning about traditions and customs from the French, Chinese and Spanish-speaking worlds. Whether eating French food, playing Spanish games or performing a traditional Chinese dance, students become more globally aware and interested in the world around them.

Lango's dynamic, experienced teachers serve as counselors, and are supported by a team of native-speaking and fluent assistant counselors. Campers participate in a variety of activities each day, including special "No English!" times, designed to provide an immersion experience while still allowing for a ton of fun.

Lango utilizes Adventure Learning®, a proprietary approach to teaching kids languages. Students complete “challenges” in order to experience new vocabulary and grammar through art, movement, playacting and basic conversation. Initially, these challenges are quite simple, but as students are able to grasp more complex instructions, the challenges become problem-solving exercises that students feel very proud to overcome.

Camp Lango dates and pricing vary by location, but all dates were designed with school vacations in mind. Please visit http://www.langokids.com to find more detailed information about a Camp Lango near you.
