"Crown Works Dental Laboratory feels extremely pleased with the entire presentation by such a prestigious member of the dental community.”
Eugene, OR (PRWEB) May 28, 2010
Crown Works Dental Laboratory, a quality focused dental lab, recently hosted Dr. Damon Adams, Editor -In -Chief of Dentistry Today, as he presented a course titled “What’s New in All Ceramics? Cutting through all the Hype and Confusion.” Six hours of continuing education credits were awarded to area doctors that attended.
Dr. Adams simplified All-Ceramics dental restorations by classification and discussed the history, current clinical uses, and the strengths and weaknesses of each. In addition, he covered the strength of non-metal coping systems, blocking out underlying stump shades, preparation challenges, impression requirements and photos that get the results that you want from your dental lab. Dr. Adams reviewed the practical knowledge that is needed to make the best choices for all-ceramic restorations, and to optimize the team-created results. He also highlighted information that dental technicians really want you and your team to know, but may be afraid to discuss. With Dr. Adams experience as a doctor-dental lab technician liaison for 15 years, he was able to shed some light on the communication issues that effect total satisfaction in cases based on dental laboratory work.
Due to the wealth of photos, as well as Dr. Adams presentation skills, this was an easy to stay focused course and kept participants visually in tune as Dr. Adams covered the 10 most common all-ceramic preparation challenges and their solutions. Dr. Adams was very knowledgeable in covering, even the heavy topics of digital impressions vs. physical impressions, Laser indications for digital impressions, CAD/CAM, proper use of silane and silica/silane treatments and treatment planning considerations.
Damon C. Adams, DDS, a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, is an assistant clinical professor in the dental residency program at the University of Toledo, College of Medicine. He lectures internationally emphasizing doctor-dental lab technician relationships and techno-clinical perspectives. He also facilitates hands-on preparation workshops designed to optimize the utilization of all-ceramic systems. In addition to his years in private practice, he has had the opportunity to serve as a doctor-dental lab technician liaison for numerous dental laboratories throughout North America for over 15 years. Dr. Adams is the editor-in-chief of Dentistry Today and is listed in Dentistry Today’s Leaders in Continuing Education (2004-2009.) In addition, he also serves on the Advisory Board for Spectrum Dialogue (Palmeri Publications).
Dr. Adams is a member of the ADA, AGD, AACD, and the National Association of Dental Laboratories. He is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists.
