We are completely dependent on the money raised from fundraisers like this one
Florence, Ala. (Vocus) May 26, 2010
TNT Fireworks announced today that the Jeff Dropo Run for Kids has raised more than $45,000 to benefit Camp Smile-A-Mile, a year-round program for children with cancer. This is the second year in which the Jeff Dropo Run 4 Kids has supported the mission of Camp Smile-A-Mile. The race has raised more than $80,000 for Camp Smile-A-Mile since its inception and is named in honor of the late Jeff Dropo, a TNT Fireworks executive, who died from cancer in 2008.
“We are completely dependent on the money raised from fundraisers like this one,” says Stephanie Wilkins, community relations manager for Camp Smile-A-Mile. “Because of the Jeff Dropo Run for Kids, more than 180 kids will be able to attend Camp Smile-A-Mile this year.”
The Jeff Dropo Run 4 Kids is a 5K run and 1 mile run/walk to benefit Camp Smile-A-Mile. The camp’s mission is to provide challenging, recreational and educational experiences for young cancer patients, their families and young adult cancer survivors from the state of Alabama at no cost. “Camp Smile-A-Mile is a positive influence on the Alabama families, patients and survivors who have been affected by this horrible disease,” says Tommy Glasgow, president of TNT Fireworks East. “We are grateful to be in a position to help this wonderful cause and honor the exceptional life of my late colleague and friend Jeff Dropo.”
TNT Fireworks is a platinum sponsor of the Jeff Dropo Run 4 Kids.
