StartOut, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and developing the next generation of LGBT entrepreneurs, will ring The Opening Bell℠ to begin trading at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Monday, June 7. The bell-ringing will celebrate StartOut’s efforts to educate, inspire and support LGBT business leaders, perfectly timed to coincide with June’s Gay Pride Month festivities.
“As Gay Pride Month begins, StartOut is the ideal organization to represent entrepreneurs from the LGBT community,” said Bryan Janeczko, co-founder of StartOut. “We’re leveraging diversity to drive innovation, secure top talent and create amazing business opportunities, and are pleased to celebrate our efforts with the bell ringing ceremony.”
Since its inception, StartOut has worked to provide opportunities to LGBT professionals across the entrepreneurial spectrum, hosting “Business Builder” networking programs, speaker events and entrepreneurship programs in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. StartOut also offers a mentorship program and “StartOut Salon” events for individuals beginning an entrepreneurship journey.
Founded in early 2009 with chapters in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles, StartOut is a non-profit organization helping to create the next generation of LGBT business leaders by helping aspiring entrepreneurs start new companies, helping current entrepreneurs to grow and expand their businesses, and engaging successful entrepreneurs as role models and mentors for less established entrepreneurs.
