It's a good thing that people are taking vacations again
Branson, MO (Vocus) May 27, 2010
It’s summertime. Time to pack up the kids and take a vacation. Families are looking for more value, closer to home with lots to do. In a recent survey, a number of travel agents reported that, although affordability was still a major issue, leisure travel was steadily increasing in 2010.
For all those reasons, Chateau on the Lake, Branson, Missouri’s only AAA Four-Diamond resort and spa, wants to give its guests credit for what GM Stephen Marshall calls, “that indomitable spirit of fun and adventure. I believe people understand that travel is good for our economy. But I think we all know it’s good for our souls. We all need to get out, move around, be free. That’s why vacations are so important for us. Here at Chateau on the Lake, we’re just doing what we can to help.”
To that end, Chateau on the Lake is giving guests credit – a resort credit of up to $120 when they stay at the hotel three nights from Sundays through Thursdays, so families can get more out of their 2010 summer vacations. The amount of the credit depends on the type and price of the room, and the guests are free to use it at Chateau on the Lake’s multiple restaurants, two pools, full-service Chateau Marina, and the new 14,000 sq. ft. Spa Chateau. This Branson Hotel also has a supervised kids' club for children from 4-12.
Adding to the destination’s appeal, Chateau on the Lake is just minutes from Branson, Missouri, known internationally as the “Entertainment Capital of America!” Branson attractions include Silver Dollar City and Titanic: The World's Largest Interactive Titanic Museum & Exhibition, while shows range from Broadway: The Star-Spangled Celebration to the Acrobats of China featuring the New Shanghai Circus – not to mention Andy Williams, Jim Stafford, and the Oak Ridge Boys.
All of which gives vacationers a lot to choose from and, as the survey showed, variety is every bit as important as value.
“It’s a good thing that people are taking vacations again,” said Stephen Marshall, GM of Chateau on the Lake. “Good for us and good for them. And we think our guests deserve a lot of credit for taking that first step.”
Often referred to as the “Castle in the Ozarks,” Chateau on the Lake is Branson’s only AAA Four-Diamond resort with an onsite spa and convention center. Chateau on the Lake is owned and managed by Springfield, Missouri-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, and is considered to be one of the 52-year-old company’s flagship properties.
