Hundreds of people will walk or run in this year’s 5K Challenge, from 7 months old to a seasoned 70 years old! The annual family friendly race will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter—2050 Claire Court in Glenview, Illinois. Register online at http://www.carecenter.org/5K. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. and a Kids Fun Run kicks off at 9:30 a.m.

The race starts at 8:30 a.m. and a Kids Fun Run kicks off at 9:30 p.m. Fun for family and friends of all ages!

Think about forming a team to honor someone special or in memory of a loved one. You also can engage your friends in the action by asking them to sponsor you.

Serious runners take note: the 3.1-mile route is USATF certified and the event is a CARA-certified 5K family race.

Proceeds will support Midwest CareCenter programs for individuals who need hospice care, palliative care or grief counseling. Learn more about the organization at http://www.carecenter.org.

Advance registration fees are $20 per adult, $10 per child (14 and under). Day-of-race registration (opens at 7:30 a.m.) will be $25 per adult and $10 per child.

Parking is available in lots near the course. Nearest Metra station: North Glenview.
