Fibers.com launched an enticing contest yesterday celebrating Father’s Day with two important goals in mind. The contest was designed to draw awareness for the partner and beneficiary National Fatherhood Initiative, but also to celebrate fathers in a fun and positive competitive environment. Fibers.com, an innovative custom clothing company, is utilizing their newly-launched contest hosting platform to hold ‘Celebrating Fatherhood: Father’s Day T-shirt Design Challenge’ in which participants design t-shirts to unseat the reigning champ of Father’s Day shirts, notably the "#1 Dad" shirt". The contest will be held for two weeks prior to Father’s Day from May 26th until June 9th.
The contest’s theme is broad to allow for a wide range of participants. Whether a father, mother, son or daughter, all are welcome and encouraged to design a shirt to celebrate dads from a father’s point of view, such as "World’s Greatest Dad", or a shirt about one’s dad, such as "My Dad is a Hero". Submitted designs will then be voted upon by other entrants and the general public. Though voting alone will not decide the winner, they will be a factor in addition to being judged on design, slogan, user comments, and social media activity. The three winning designs will split over $600 in prizes with the Grand Prize earning an Apple iPad.
National Fatherhood Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of children by increasing the proportion of children growing up with their fathers. Profits from the sales winning designs on Fibers.com will be donated to the National Fatherhood Initiative to aid in their cause. The aim of the contest is to raise awareness of the National Fatherhood Initiative all while benefiting the non-profit financially to further promote their worthy and timely cause.
According to the National Fatherhood Initiative, children without fathers are much more prone to teen parenthood, financial instability, poor academic performance, and criminal activity. In addition, the economic impact of father-less homes costs the federal government $100 billion annually in aid programs. The National Fatherhood Initiative’s three-pronged strategy focuses on educating the public, equipping fathers and organizations with the resources they need, and engaging society with this important issue. Promotions Manager Josh Lohr at Fibers.com stated, “We are thrilled to have National Fatherhood Initiative as the beneficiary of our Father’s Day contest and hope to aid in their cause by raising awareness and engaging Americans about their critical goals which are often over-looked.”
NFI president, Roland C. Warren, said, “National Fatherhood Initiative is honored to partner with Fibers.com for this great contest. It will provide people with a rare opportunity to show dads that they are loved and valued.”
