The Wayne Homes Energy Smart Guarantee promises customers that their new Wayne Home will use only a certain amount of energy in the first two years.
Barberton, OH (PRWEB) May 27, 2010
Back in 1997, Wayne Homes became one of the first homebuilders in Ohio to become an Energy Star® Partner. So it’s no surprise that Wayne Homes received, once again, the Energy Star® Leadership in Housing Award for 2009.
With some kinds of awards, it’s difficult to know exactly what was accomplished and who really benefited. But the Leadership in Housing Award can be measured in all sorts of ways. And the benefits, to Wayne’s homeowners and others, are numerous. Wayne Homes received the award because the company has built more than 200 Energy Star® qualified homes. An Energy Star® qualified home is designed and built to use significantly less energy than a typical new home built to state code. How much less? Well, if you were to add up the savings from all the Wayne homes built in 2009, it would be the equivalent of:
•Eliminating the exhaust emissions from 59.78 vehicles
•Reducing the amount of coal burned by 361,608 pounds
•Planting 98.82 acres of trees
And of course saving energy means saving money. With just the homes that Wayne built in 2009, the company saved its customers an estimated total of $54,534 in annual utility bills. That doesn’t include the $2,000 energy tax credit that Wayne Homes receives from the federal government and then passes directly to their customers.
“And with our Energy Smart Guarantee, we even go beyond the Energy Star® program,” says Dennis Gregory, regional construction coordinator for Wayne Homes. The Wayne Homes Energy Smart Guarantee promises customers that their new Wayne Home will use only a certain amount of energy in the first two years. If the home uses more than that amount, Wayne Homes will pay the difference.
These days, what could be smarter than that?
