Sony Ericsson has confirmed the lucky few competition winners attending this year's FIFA World Cup™.

With the FIFA World Cup™ less than a month away, Sony Ericsson offered football fans the opportunity to demonstrate their patriotism with the South African Wave.

In return, Sony Ericsson awarded those contestants who could demonstrate the most diverse and interesting wave two tickets to this summer's FIFA World Cup 2010™, including travel, accommodation and hospitality for the opening match, one of the group matches, the last sixteen or the quarter finals.

The first fortunate winners have already been named - receiving tickets to one of the high profile group matches - giving many lucky football fans the chance to see some of the most famous footballers in the world demonstrate what they do best.

Since kicking off on the 4th May people have been enthusiastically exhibiting their finest waves by uploading videos of themselves and their friends doing the famous stadium wave that sprung into the world of football during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. As a result of the highly coveted prizes, the Sony Ericsson South African Wave has already reached football fans from all four corners of the globe; all hopeful that they may be lucky enough to win tickets to the FIFA World Cup 2010™.

A representative from Sony Ericsson commented: "Not only is the FIFA World Cup™ the biggest event in the sporting calendar but it is also an effective way of bringing diverse groups of people together, all with the same interest: football.
