Visitors of the facility are invited to enjoy Georgia's finest fruit harvest of peaches right out of the orchard. Including Pearson's famous fresh peach ice cream and baked specialties such as their brand new Peach Shortcake.

“Everyone is welcome to come and take the tour.”

It’s peach season in Georgia, time to enjoy some of the most amazingly delicious fruit crop in many years. This year the popular Peach County, Georgia growers at Pearson Farm are reporting one of the best tasting fruit crops in years. The chill hours during the winter months, which are needed to make peaches grow to their best flavor and size, were absolutely plentiful and ideal for the crop.

Spring this year has also been relatively mild, bringing just the right amount of nourishing rain without the damaging hail or late season freeze issues of last year. Al Pearson, owner of Pearson Farm, says that tours of the peach packing process are now open to the general public. Pearson Farm completes peach packing in an over 100 year old schoolhouse known as the “Old Zenith School” that has now been converted to a peach packing shed.

“Everyone is welcome to come and take the tour.” says Pearson. “We offer self-guided tours of the peach packing process when we are in operation. You can also give us a call to set up a guided tour for your family or group. However, we cannot guarantee that the peach packing line will be running every day throughout the season.”

“If you choose a guided tour, Pearson Farm will also share information about growing Georgia Peaches, Pearson Farm family history, and a lot more.” continues Mr. Pearson. “We also have our brand new peach shortcake and the best fresh peach ice cream in Georgia.”

Pearson Farm grows 30 different varieties of sweet Georgia peaches with early peach varieties which are available now and continue through the last of the peach varieties which become available through late August. With so many great ways to enjoy the Georgia peach and such a plentiful crop there are certain to be bountiful harvests and some pretty sweet deals.

If you can not make it to Fort Valley, Georgia for a historical peach packing shed tour or to get your fresh ripe peaches, there are other ways to purchase them without settling for the ones at your local grocery store. Pearson Farm makes it easy to order all the farm fresh peaches you desire online or over the phone from their website at pearsonfarm.com. You can have them shipped fast, fresh and ripe to almost anywhere for yourself or as a gift for business or corporate friends, friends and family.

In addition to freshly picked peaches Pearson Farm offers fresh baked goods from Mary’s Kitchen; like Pearson’s Peach Shortcake or Peaches and Cream Cake as well as peach jams, peach salsa, and other ready-to-eat goodies. Plus if you need more ideas for what to do with all your delicious peaches you will find Pearson family recipes right on the company website too.
