Students from Northwest Renewable Energy Institute Recently Returned from Windpower 2010, the World’s Largest Energy Event

NW-REI Students were immersed in the Windpower 2010 conference with over 1,500 companies represented on-site including Suzlon, a leading wind power company which recently hired several NW-REI graduates. In less than 15 years, Suzlon, conceived in 1995, has grown from just 20 employees to over 14,000 employees in 21 countries.

Students from Northwest Renewable Energy Institute (NW-REI) recently returned from Dallas, Texas where they attended Windpower 2010, the world’s largest energy event.

Participants and attendees included a broad range of industry leaders from all over the world. Students were immersed in the conference with over 1,500 companies represented on-site including Suzlon, a leading wind power company which recently hired several NW-REI graduates. In less than 15 years, Suzlon, conceived in 1995, has grown from just 20 employees to over 14,000 employees in 21 countries. NW-REI School Director, Tracy Rascoe, who serves as part of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) Educational Workgroup, participated in the conference, teaching one seminar and co-anchoring the question and answer period at the end of the conference.

Additional NW-REI staff members in attendance were: Lisa Schmidt (Director of Career Development), Stephen Koyen (Director of Admissions), David Hastings (Instructor) and Kathy Johnson (Career Development Instructor).
