"The new health care reform bill really is inseparable from the decisions that American consumers now have to make when shopping for insurance, particularly health and long term care."

AH Insurance Services, Inc., an independently owned agency for life & health insurance, long term care planning, and Medicare health/drug plans in Tampa Bay, Florida, has launched a new website aimed at consumers, many of whom are baffled by President Obama’s new health care plan and want more information on how their Medicare benefits will be impacted.
Owner Andrew Herman says a planned major overhaul of his website just happened to coincide with the approval of the recent historic health care reform bill, and it just made sense to include it in his new website. “We didn’t consciously set out to build a site about health care reform, and it still isn't our main focus,” says Herman, “but as we got into writing the new content for the site, it became evident that the new health care reform bill really is inseparable from the decisions that American consumers now have to make when shopping for insurance, particularly health and long term care. So those sections of the new website became a platform for me to break down the changes to the health care system and Medicare, and how they impact consumer options when it comes to health insurance and long term care insurance."
The AH Insurance Services website includes pages that answer questions like, “When Do I Sign Up for Medicare Parts A and B?”, “What Are My Options for Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D)?”, and “Won't the Medicare Program Pay for My Long Term Care Costs?”, and one page of the site is dedicated to posting the latest changes and rules issued by the federal government as part of the health care reform bill.
In addition to providing information on Medicare and health care reform, Herman’s site also offers information on life insurance and fixed annuities, and allows visitors to get an instantaneous “self-service” quote from multiple health insurance carriers or request a personalized quote from a licensed insurance agent. Visitors can also request a real time meeting via the internet using a system called Glance.
“Ultimately, we're here to sell insurance,” says Herman, “and we believe the best way to do that is through consumer education. Educating our clients and helping them make sound decisions with regards to their insurance needs allows us to live up to our motto of “Protecting Your Health and Wealth.”
