"We need new organic models for support that let fans intimately connect with artists and other fans."

Fanit has released a new payment system that lets fans support artists they love directly. This new model connects fans and artists together in an intimate way, eliminating many of the middlemen that currently cast a dark shadow on the music industry.
Fans log in to their account on Fanit.com and send support to their favorite artists with a simple purchase. It's a direct and more meaningful way of supporting the music they love. The old 20th century model was ridden with middlemen, smoke, and mirrors. This new model is built for the 21st century.
One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds from the new Fanit Artist Support system goes directly to the artist. This empowers artists as well as fans. "As people continue to consume music in new ways the old model of supporting an artist by purchasing an MP3 or CD don't really work so well", said Jason Schultz a member of Fanit. "We need new organic models for support that let fans connect with artists and other fans."
In the event that either the artist and their associates, or the music industry and their associates create a problem for distributing the funds as the fan wished, then they will forfeit these funds and they will go in their entirety to the Acumen Fund.
"This new support system gives a much more intimate relationship between the artist and the fan. Many successful artists will tell you that genuine connections like these have the most value. That's value for the fan as well as the artist. The music industry has been surprisingly supportive of Fanit. There will certainly be some artists or their associates who for whatever reason try to mess this up. We've thought deeply about this and decided that in situations where the artist or associate creates a problem the money will instead go to the Acumen Fund. This creates an environment where every outcome is a positive one no matter how people conduct themselves", said Jason.
Fanit has been privately working with bands and artists to get them setup in the system so fans can start supporting them. As of 6-25-2010 Fanit is open to all bands and artists who wish to participate. They can do so by using the contact link on the website.
Support your favorite artists and become known for the music you love at Fanit.com.
